That's cmpletely backwards. As a developer you need a *stable* system.
That doesn't mean you need a *stale* system (i.e. Leap).
There is nothing between Leap and Tumbleweed, and Tumbleweed is not stable. I do use Tumbleweed but I do it on a device that has very little state on it so I can just put it down when it breaks and use another one without major interruption.
