Hi,
I just did a fresh install of Alpha2 on a real machine (laptop Acer Aspire 3022WLMi) and the installer shows unresolvable conflicts on package selection: kdeaddons3 kdeaddons3-kate kdeaddons3-konqueror kdeaddons3-kicker ...
YaST did not recognize my RTL8169 nic, alpha1 did. But on boot it is shown. Firewall is disabled (maybe because there was no nic found) wlan BCM4318 is not supported as in alpha1 internal modem (snd-atiixp-sound) not recognized (well it never works, but 10.0 or Alpha1 found the device)
YaST says: "Warnung: TV-Karten koennen nicht ueberprueft werden" (Warning: Cannot check for TV cards)
The xorg.conf file that was generated by YaST is really funny: Lot's of "vmware" entries and totally unuseable for my ATI X600 PCIE graphics.
YaST did not show up the sshd on networkinstall, but it is started.
Well, rebooting...without framebuffer (deleted vga=0x317) Graphics did not start. So: Switching to runlevel 3 and trying to configure my graphics via "sax2": sax2 starts, shows the background and a mousecursor and after 10 seconds it dies.
Ok, I read the SaX.log...GLX not loaded. I opened xorg.conf...the file is changed! Only "wrong" entry now, the max resolution (800x600), so I changed it to 1280x800.
If I run as root "X" an empty xserver starts up and stay. "rckdm restart" chrashes: linux kdm: :0[4882]: Abnormal termination of greeter for display :0, code 125, signal 0
I set DISPLAYMANAGER="xdm" in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager rcxdm works, but if I log in as user I end up with an empty desktop and a moveable mouse. In my process list I see: kdeinit Running... dcopserver [kdeinit] --nosid klauncher [kdeinit] kaccess [kdeinit] kwrapper ksmserver ksmserver [kdeinit] kio_file [kdeinit] file .... klipper [kdeinit] suseplugger [kdeinit] -caption knotify [kdeinit] kded kded drkonqi -display :0.0 --appname kded --signal 11 ....
The last process (drkonqi) repeats endless, kded chrashes again and again. Next try: wmaker...also chrashes
Next try: twm...works
Well _this_ seems to be a real "alpha"-version! :-)

Hi meister,I'm sorry you have so problems with this new version. I'm thinking to pass from alpha1 to alpha-3 directly. ;-) Have a luck...
