I went, a bit carelessly, zypper dup. I got a new kernel, but kernel-devel was not updated, so I got trouble:
This is /var/log/vboxadd-install.log:
just hasn't been published, yet.
I have similar probs with installing nvidia prop driver so went back to prev kernel until new kernel-devel is published.
I went back to 3.1.0-1.2-desktop and I'm cool for now.
gud luk,
i thought: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/noar... should be only a mirror/linked to: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ as it is the aktive STABLE version and no need to build this a second time?
It is a link, at the package level, not at the repo level.
OK, than the only the repo-Script failed, as it didnt do the kernel-devel-packages v 3.2.0-3.1 or didnt block the other kernel-packages, as it is still building nevertheless, it shouldnt build a new version as /Kernel:/stable/standard/ didnt change am i wrong?
seems not to be so, as in the last one repo, there is only buildlevel 3.2.0-1.1, no 3.2.0-3.1
is this a fault in in my beleaving or in the build system?
You need to rebuild your kernel module packages, if you install a new kernel package. know this, as i am weekly compiling nvidia-proprietary-beta-drivers ;-)
If you use external kernel modules, I strongly suggest you don't use Tumbleweed unless you know what you are doing, as the kernel updates are trickier for you, and not supported by me. :)
no problem for me, i use /Kernel:/stable/standard/ anyway (knowing what i am doing, even if i used Tumbleweed ;-) ) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
