For your question: You can use various tools, like the graphical ones (YaST2), zypper in zypper will update zypper too, and if there's a new version on Factory, this will help you solve it.
The error is only as long as you do not have updated Zypper, if I understood the bug reports correctly.
If you prefer, you can also download zypper.rpm from download.opensuse.org/distributio0n directly and install it using rpm -Fhv
