Dear developers,
As requested by Stephan Kulow I want to report success on Vista+11.0rc1 dual boot. I've just installed 11.0rc1 and all went fine; recognized my windows partitions, and Vista is available and working on grub boot menu.
My machine: Dell XPS M1330 with Windows Vista Home Premium. Core2Duo T7500 2.2GHz 2GB RAM, etc,... Vista is 32bits and OpenSuse11.0rc1 is 64bits.
Hope this helps,

I have an eMachines T5234 ... Trying to install the 64bit 11.0rc1 barfed all over my system. It didn't even finish mounting the partitions that I had before the setup completely failed. But I also have that nVidia graphics system, and a sound system that only openSUSE seems to recognize, no other distros will give me sound. I've noticed a lot of compatibility issues with the 64 bit build of a lot of software. Notably Flash plugin... But, it's much better than Vista ... they sell you a good computer with a crappy OS and then they want you to buy the upgrade. I need Linux for software development, so I am sticking with openSUSE for the foreseeable future. I probably won't be installing 11.0 until the full release comes out ... if they still have issues with nVidia, I may not be able to install at all. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
