After installing this TW update in the same way: zypper ref && zypper dup, at reboot my Wi-Fi has stopped to works and also Cinnamon is crashing.
I had to reboot on previous kernel 4.17.2-2.gddde22d-default in order to get a working system.
That is the kernel that came with Tumbleweed 20180620, so if you also have a newer kernel, there is your problem. You apparently have an additional repository that provided a kernel. Don't do that unless you know exactly what you're doing.
Cheers!
You are absolutely right Arjen! Some months ago I had enabled this kernel repo: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ I used to have this repo enabled since a lot of time and so far the "zypper dup" always went well. Now I've disabled it and downgraded to the official TW kernel.
