So, who removed sysvinit(syslog) without modifying postfix first?
Problem: postfix-2.8.12-1.3.x86_64 requires sysvinit(syslog), but this requirement cannot be provided deleted providers: syslog-service-1.4.1-761.1.noarch uninstallable providers: syslogd-1.4.1-762.1.i586[factory] systemd-logger-195-4.1.i586[factory] syslogd-1.4.1-762.1.x86_64[factory] systemd-logger-195-4.1.x86_64[factory] Solution 1: deinstallation of postfix-2.8.12-1.3.x86_64 Solution 2: deinstallation of rsyslog-7.2.1-1.1.x86_64 Solution 3: keep obsolete syslog-service-1.4.1-761.1.noarch Solution 4: break postfix-2.8.12-1.3.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies
The same for cups: Problem: cups-1.5.4-3.1.x86_64 requires sysvinit(syslog), but this requirement cannot be provided deleted providers: syslog-service-1.4.1-761.1.noarch uninstallable providers: syslogd-1.4.1-762.1.i586[factory-oss] systemd-logger-195-4.1.i586[factory-oss] syslogd-1.4.1-762.1.x86_64[factory-oss] systemd-logger-195-4.1.x86_64[factory-oss] Solution 1: deinstallation of cups-1.5.4-2.2.x86_64 Solution 2: deinstallation of rsyslog-7.2.1-1.1.x86_64 Solution 3: keep obsolete syslog-service-1.4.1-761.1.noarch Solution 4: break cups-1.5.4-3.1.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies
Is this a systemd-logger issue? I _do_ want to preserve rsyslog. Lennart said it is possible to use all the old good stuff if I don't want to use systemd lightweight "replacements" for pm-utils, syslog and others. If this is not the case, we should have a stern talking to him again.
You can still use rsyslog, just don't install systemd-logger package,
The problem is that rsyslog does not provide sysvinit(syslog); only systemd-logger provides it. So installing rsyslog will force systemd-logger to be removed and will also cause all other packages that need sysvinit(syslog) to be removed. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
