Hey Stephan, your work is appreciated. But as it is now I cannot even do a clean install that works using the latest snapshot. As I wrote some time ago my installation has been broken earlier with large updates, but it was in most cases unclear whether (not production ready) BTRFS, Bumblebee or buggy ASUS firmware might have caused this. This time however I do not see any reason except that the snapshot is just broken, at least with the Plasma 5 desktop (that I want to use). Since I use the same setup (on a desktop machine) at work I would really appreciate some advice on how to get this working again. Best regards Am 17.05.2015 um 11:33 schrieb Stephan Kulow:

It would've really helped if somebody just said what packages to lock until I'm ready to make the switch. As it is I can't update anything before I've made sure that Plasma 5 will work for me. On TW installations I want to keep on v4, I've been using the following prior to zypper dup, with apparent success:
zypper al kf5* kdm* kdebase4* konsole* ksnapshot* kcalc* konqueror* kde-oxygen-fonts kded* kmenuedit* kwin* libqt* qtcurve* qt4* sddm breeze* qtcurve-qt5 kmix libkonq5 kde4-kgreeter-plugins
To get it, on the first such system I just kept answering cancel instead of letting zypper dup proceed, and adding locks until the conflicts stopped.
An attempt to update produces conflicts for plasma-nm-* packages, BTW. I have only fixed IP installations, so no use for *nm*. Looks like I'm going to have to abandon TW (sniff), because I can't have my box turning into a useless pile of shite like it did this morning.
It's always great to know that your work is appreciated. Thanks Mike
Greetings, Stephan
