This snapshot brought us the new 'role based' installation mode for desktop selection, which means GNOME and KDE a 'prominent' on the screen and all others are below 'custom' and 'ticking' the right checkbox for any other DE to be installed. I'd like to ask you to give this new implementation a go and report back any potential issues you have with it.
We decided to merge it as-is in order to give YOU a chance to test it out directly instead of only relying on videos and what people say.
Workstation with KDE/Gnome and Server. I was curious what under 'Custom' is: You end up in a selection screen for patterns (I assume) Expectation was a bunch of other DE.
Question is how to get that DEs. In past ( and still in Leap ) it was maintained by YaST team and people complain that this one should be added or that one is no longer maintained and we do not have resources to maintain it. Also we does not support DE which is only in additional repositories. Using patterns it means that adding community repo with fancy DE XYZ, that provide pattern, can be easily installed.
In that context, found a bug in the partitioner in that context: Partitioner does not respect language settings: In Germany, decimal separator is ',', but it expects '.' (english setting)
Please report it to bugzilla and also please attach yast logs[1] so we can investigate it.
