Just stumbled on this thread. Me too. Same repo, stock kernel. I'm on the NVidia proprietary driver though, on a desktop with stock taskbar. I noticed memory goes up (20GiB yesterday) while plasmashell is locked up - I found it before it had caused OOM for once. CPU tends to go moderately high (40-60%) to 100% and is very abnormal to it's nominal operation - and there seems to be a short time (sufficient for human interaction) that things escalate from working-> frozen. Kwin/dbus are both alive and windows can be manipulated, not sure about the health of kded - is there some quick check via qdbus to see if kded is up and in good health? Everything plasma related though just ignores input. And before someone quips that's not this bug, I believe it is. App doesn't respond to kquitapp, so I kill it. -Jason On Sat, Dec 3, 2016 at 5:02 AM, Michael Hirmke <linux@mike.franken.de> wrote:

yes, similar - but none of them really fits.
Bye. Michael.
Well, time to fill a new bugreport.. IMHO, on both side (kde and suse) for better tracking the problem.
seems to be a good idea. Only thing is: I don't have any error messages, useful logs etc. I can provide the same description I wrote here, thats it. And from my experience this is not enough for developers to even notice the problem. But I'll try it once more.
Daniele.
