No Nvidia devices. I read in the Ubuntu FAQ that it the system cannot detect HDMI device, it means you have incorrectly built kernel or alsa. But I use the both from the repo. I had a similar problem. Loading of the kernel module snd-hda-codec-hdmi solved this for me.
