Actually, when bootup with a couple of hundred CPUs or thousands of LUNs has been taking 10s of minutes, customer did care. Which is why we fixed it for them. ;-) But, indeed, while a few seconds more or less can be very visible on your netbook/notebook or desktop, for most servers it's less critical unless it becomes too much.
