Even I've tested all version from 1.2.4 (1993) until 1.4 (2010) on different architectures. All deterministic.
Deterministic in themselves or tested against all other versions of gzip?
Deterministic for all tested combinations of these versions and archs: tested versions: 1.2.4 (1993) - 1.4 (2010) tested archs: suse 11.4, 32/64bit, different compilers, all gzip versions sun, sparc, version? from 2002 windows, 32/64bit, mingw, cygwin (gzip 1.3.x, 1.4) arm , debian (some version) IMO this determinism since 18 years (couldn't find older versions) does not happened randomly. Even it's an undocumented feature I would not change it per default just to make it faster for people who don't manage to type pigz instead of gzip. cu, Rudi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
