I am trying to determine why I have problems mounting/auto-mounting removable devices in my upgraded 11.4 --> 12.1 system. My fresh install 12.1 system does provide mounting/auto-mounting of removable devices.
Are you using /media? It is now a ramdisk, so mountpoints disappear on reboot.
yes/no ;^) I haven't changed anything from 11.4. A little history: upgraded 11.4 to 12.1 via: zypper dup --from tumbleweed very few small hickups, except automagical mounting of removable devices. I get by using pmount and adding myself to /etc/pmount.conf but need to look at dmesg to determine device if not cd/dvd. I also have two other systems that I did a fresh install of 12.1, one to factory, the other to tumbleweed. Both tumbleweed systems have the same problem, but the 12.1/2-Factory system does not. It works as expected. Could not mount the following device: Device_Name An unspecified error has occurred. Authentication is required. I have not made a bug report, yet. I have not changed any mount points, as I said pmount works for me. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
