I think for the majority of file requires, the /usr/ location should be used. So adjust our RPMs requiring something in /bin. I see only problems with third party RPMs, and here the big question is, is there really anything required beside the coreutils utilities, /bin/sh and /bin/bash? A very common requires(post) on a lot of packages is /sbin/ldconfig, coming from %post -p /sbin/ldconfig So at least that one must be provided (by glibc) Cheers, Dominique
