Unfortunately, that output does not guarantee that the packages are for the running kernel. Please post the output of these two: sudo zypper se -i -s virtualbox sudo zypper se -i -s kernel Is this error happening when Leap 42.2 is the host, or is it a guest? BTW, it is normal that '/sbin/vboxconfig' does not generate the modules. That part has been stripped out of the openSUSE version of the RPM.
