Following a successful trial with 11.4M3 (Build 845) I've successfully downloaded openSUSE-DVD-Build0845_Build0908-i586.delta.iso (the md5 checks out OK) but using applydeltaiso from 11.3 (standard x64 version) I get an internal md5 sum failure at package wine-32bit (this after many packages have been processed correctly).
Same error at glibc-devel when trying to create the M4 x64 version.
All isos and deltas re-checked against published md5sums and are OK
Is this an issue with 11.3's deltarpms package (yast says I have 3.5-6.1)? If so can anyone point me to a newer one to install on my 11.3 system to save me having to install 11.4 M3 just to create the isos....
You _have_ to use the deltarpm of the target distribution to apply deltas. It's insane, but it's the way it is. Fortunately they are most of the times compatible, but between M2 and M3 there was an update of the compression algorithm, so you need to have a post-M2 deltarpm to apply a post-M2 delta. In home:coolo I try to maintain such a package, but be warned: you will no longer be able to apply pre-M3 deltas on your 11.3 then (including online updates).
