Hm, checked my other machines, and yes it is now also automatically set to tmpfs. However, the TW installation I am talking about is still having this issue. But only for the TW partition. There might be a bigger issue here since the root FS is set to RO. Maybe just re-install TW at some point in time and look if that helps?
Ok, the root filesystem is going to RO, not /tmp. This means something with your root filesystem is wrong. Is there anything in the "journalctl -b" output about btrfs errors or switching to ro? Else a fresh installation may be the quickest solution to fix this.
