I wont revive a troll nor contest the new openSUSE name. But we have an history and a wiki and we must take care of all that stuff.
How will we call the distribution in the wiki pages? what if we speak of 9.3 ? what if we speak of all of them? 9.3 was called SUSE Linux and still is
I propose here what could be written in the wiki tomorrow (or so)
I think we could say that "openSUSE" is now the official name _of all_ the suse distributions whatever they are. but...
* for the pre-10.2, the name SUSE Linux is acceptable (and can be written as you like, capitalized or not, SuSE or SUSE) we should give a clear direction - and this is openSUSE There will be different writing anyway but we shouldn't start with it.
* If it's not obvious by the context that the subject is the distribution itself (it could be the wiki or the project) or if somebody want to insist on our origin, one can add the word "Linux" to openSUSE, that is speak of "openSUSE Linux" same as above - openSUSE
* at the beginning of a sentence, one can write OpenSUSE, with a capitalised "O" That's something for a brand expert. I'd say again it's openSUSE regardless where.

of course all this is obvious, but seen the discussion we had here, better make sure before fixing the wiki :-)
