It doesn't seem to *harm* the system (for now), but I'm tempted to reinstall again. I'd rather not do that - I'd rather understand what happened so I can prevent it from happening again, and if I've run into a defect, I'd like to report it so it can get fixed.

OK - that makes sense, I guess - I've just never seen it before as a result of an update. My other 42.3 systems don't do this.
