I've just noticed that the default limits are a bit too tight on my 4-core machine and choke off parallel builds of Emacs becuase it runs into the nproc (actually its nthreads) limit. These limits are identical to the ones set on my AthlonXP box even though that system is a lot less capable. I can change them with prlimit (as root) and edit /etc/security/limits.conf, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this from YaST?
