Interesting development.... I tried to copy the image file to a 16GB thumb drive (empty). At about the 98% mark the copy operation stalled for no apparent reason -- just sitting there with the "Notifications" icon spinning but no copying happening. I'll next see if the Network install image will copy to the thumb drive. On Mon, Nov 19, 2018 at 8:52 AM Chuck Davis <cjgunzel@gmail.com> wrote:
My K3b does not have a "write image" option. On the Tools menu I have options 1) Copy medium, 2) Format/Erase rewritable disk, 3) Burn image; after that three options to rip audio and video.
Additionally, using the "burned" iso image it works up to the point of having chosen the install type so I think the system is working ok from the burned image ( which is the way I've always done installs in the past). It just stops working at the same place every time so far -- even on 3 differenct media (one for the 11/16, 6/13 and Network) -- however, the 3 media were created on the same device so I'm changing devices to see if that has any effect. I'm going to move the image file to my laptop and burn it there to make sure it's not my DVD burner.

I tried a new install of TW yesterday on a Thinkpad T61 with 4G memory replacing a windows 10 install.
I tried the 11/16 DVD and Network installs and neither worked. Since neither of them worked I tried the 20180613 DVD. Didn't work.
The install of all the above seems to work normally until the selection for the type of install: KDE, GNOME, server, etc. At that point the hd spins a bit and then all comes to an abrupt end -- the system hangs.
Is this a known issue that will be resolved soon? Certainly does not provide a good user experience for someone looking at TW as an option.
Thanks for any info.
This looks like an improperly created install medium. Which and how did you create it?
