I never did that. In your first posts on which I answered you did never mention NetworkManager but "upstream".
I spoke about "upstream", as you started with "upstream" which are glibc, bind, etc, but not some network configuration management tools only some people are using and are not even the standard tool.
NetworkManager is a package in openSUSE which has an upstream project, hence the name upstream can be used in this context.
If "upstream" would change it, you wouldn't need /etc/resolv.conf as symlink.
That's not "upstream", that's basically the ABI which they can't change unless they want to break compatibility. But anyway, I'm leaving this discussion. It's not leading anywhere.
