Is this the way for a new machine that should get Tumbleweed?
You can add Tumbleweed as an add-on repository during installation.
Ok, but just adding
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/
is not enough? I still would need
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/openSUSE-current/repo/non-oss/ http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/openSUSE-current/repo/oss/ http://download.opensuse.org/update/openSUSE-current/ http://download.opensuse.org/update/openSUSE-non-oss-current/
You need all 5 from above for Tumbleweed?
And, what ist the difference between repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed and distribution/openSUSE-current ? Is the "current" not Tumbleweed?
To resolve a few misunderstoodments: 1. Tumbleweed builds UPON openSUSE-current, it does NOT replace openSUSE-current. 2. in zypper the following applies to priorities: The LOWER the number, the HIGHER the repo priority. So, YES, you need ALL FIVE repos mentioned above, and IF you change the priorites away from their default (99) then in the following way: Prio | Repo-url ================ 99 | http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/openSUSE-current/repo/oss/ 99 | http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/openSUSE-current/repo/non-oss/ 98 | http://download.opensuse.org/update/openSUSE-current/ 98 | http://download.opensuse.org/update/openSUSE-non-oss-current/ 97 | http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/ Any questions left?
