With this solution, we provide benefits to users of more recent machines than that of V1 by using the newer CPU instructions
This seems so obvious, but after a long discussion I haven't read any explanation yet.
So what would be the advantage of switching to v3? Yes, v3. I'm aware that TW will switch to v2, but can somebody compare v1 to v3, please? Would it be an advantage for users or for the maintenance of TW?
You want v1 to be compared to v3, assuming that TW (Tumbleweed) will be v2? Then the comparison should be of *what* as v1 or v3?
As far as I have understood the discussion here the switch to v2 is a kind of compromise and won't do much good, but get things starting. But I'd be interested to know what the potential advantages could be, compromise aside. So I asked for a comparison between v1 and v3. -- Regards, Alexander
