Hi 12.3 to 13.1 rc1 upgrade via the NET install iso. It has upgraded fine to 13.1 but the menu for which to boot still shows only 12.3. I think this is a label in grub somewhere. Can anyone help me sort this out?
If you mean grub2 boot menu - that is known problem. And I do not know how to solve it in backward compatible way. This field (distributor) can be edited by user so it would be wrong to change it automatically. Ubuntu (or Debian?) is using shell script that gets value from /etc/os-release (or similar); this automatically gives the right value without need to change this file on every update.
So we may go this route and use it for new installations, but for updates you will need to change it manually, sorry.
Hi Thanks That's fine. Could you tell me how or which file I need to edit or how to otherwise manually change this? L x
/etc/default/grub - GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR
Or just go into bootloader settings and edit it there. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
