Hi Felix, *snip* So, when it comes to contribution
Right now, all the ALP stuff we will be getting from SUSE Will be coming from IBS and I see no good way to create a contribution path to them (FOR NOW)
I do not intend to shoot the messenger, so please don't take this personally, but Imho it's quite the mistake and regression from the promised way ALP would be developed.
Could a path to contribution that is not terrible be please made a high priority? Otherwise, ALP is really not that much different from SLE (at the moment at least).
Given the constraints in play, I don't think it would make sense to make it a higher priority than it already is SUSE is very focused on getting their ALP products out by the end of the year openSUSE hasn't even decided what it wants to build based on ALP Forcing SUSE to change how they develop ALP will delay their efforts, while not give openSUSE anything in the short term - it's not like we're even in a position to make use of that contribution path if we had it. We can do whatever we want in our openSUSE ALP Products meanwhile, and then we can consolidate, correct, and improve the situation afterwards. We all agree it's not ideal, but, it's how it is. -- Richard Brown Distributions Architect SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH, Frankenstraße 146, D-90461 Nuremberg, Germany (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg) Managing Directors/Geschäftsführer: Ivo Totev, Andrew Myers, Andrew McDonald, Martje Boudien Moerman
