this is in the normal update repo: http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.1/noarch/polkit-default-privs-12.1-10... and I have got it installed by "zypper up" over two weeks ago When you run grep PERMISSION_SECURITY /etc/sysconfig/security does it say "easy local" ? if there would be "secure", it would explain such problems.
