Just a note for the developers who put together, for example, the installation group of files and those who do KDE files which contain references to cities of the world for setting time zones and similar.
The capital of Australia is CANBERRA, repeat Canberra, and not, say, Sydney or Melbourne (on the East coast).
I have yet to see Canberra shown anywhere in the list of cities re time zones, or - when installing oS - the one of the cities one sees listed is Sydney when selecting the time zone.
You will have to troll the IETF instead :-D we have nothing to do with or have a say about how this is all organized.
FWIW, there is no conspiracy against Australia. The capital of the United States, Washington DC, is not listed either. In that time zone, you need to select New York.
Aww, come on there, Larry, "The capital of the United States, Washington DC.......". Everybody knows that the US of A is run from New York by the banks and Wall Street, with Washington being the place where decisions and legislation written by the banks and Wall Street are rubber stamped. But on a matter of principle, I would argue that Washington *should* be shown as the entry for the Time Zone for east coast of America.
