Leap doesn't always get the latest version of everything, I don't think we have taken a new Gnome stack for 42.3 because SLE isn't and packages like shotwell come directly from SLE.
There are bugs that I'm reporting upstream, and I can't try a recent version, for instance. Even the graphics repo has the old version, and I don't see why a repo has to track SLE.
Well maybe try sending update or contacting maintainers of shotwell? Also if present shotwell contains bugs serious enough I could imagine update being created for this package - but this will not happen due to someone sending mails to this mailing list, rather bug needs to be reported.
I have contacted shotwell maintainers since some time ago. They have produced updates, but these have not appeared on Leap.
These bugs can not be solved downstream.
Then we need a downstream bug report so the openSUSE maintainer can find and apply the right fixes.
There are a few. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)
