Thanks - mine's the last of these, 0x0242
Used to do 1280x1024 in OpenSuSE 10.3 but 11.0 / 11.1 betas won't work above 1024x768 - all I get is a black screen with a white / coloured horizontal line at the top.
This with 'official' openSuSE 11.0 one (173.14.12-0.1) or various versions up to and including 180.08 for nvidia site (thanks to previous replies in this thread)
I'm not sure if it's really a Beta / Factory issue (same in 11.0 final) but something has changed since 10.3...
It seems so. My graphic cards, all nvidia, are hotter in 11.1 than in 11.0, but to make sure I have to go and make more tests. I can't say about earlier as only 10.3 is on laptop and it has ATI chipset. For time being I have to play gently to prevent more damage. I have 64 bit computer out of commision until I can replace motherboard, and it quit after graphic showed some irregularities. I shut down computer, but it never booted again. Testing pretty barebone configuration with add on graphic card didn't helped to see at least some portion of the boot. I'm not very sad about that as it was anyway time for upgrade, but besides known problems that nvidia has with manufacturing, I have feeling that they add up pushing chips beyond actual technical capabilities. I'm currently using nv driver, but heatsink is still hotter than I feel comfortable. If I can't keep hand on it for more than a few seconds, it is not good. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
