Assuming there is limited time between Beta and RC releases I'd prefer to release these versions on Mondays or during first half of the week. Otherwise there might not be enough Beta testers "active" during the first few days of the release period, meaning: bug reports (and later on bug fixes) might get delayed just for scheduling reasons.
We release them as fast as we can and going to other days would mean a change to our long loved processes. Basically Releasing on monday would mean we have to finish internally on friday without any buffers - and then lose the weekend for testing... We've learned to prefer to start doing the first isos on tuesday and release them asap - and that means release them on thursdays,
