Sure. But if you want just the result to be private it works fine. So once you have all dependencies you can use -o to build. SOMEHOW one has to determine all dependencies, independent what if rpmbuild or osc build is used, and needs to get this on the disk.
@Carlos - I havent used rpmbuild since I use osc.
