New to me, I did't expect it. The standard is alt.
Since when? Alt-Tab always cycles windows for me, even on Microsoft Windows. That's also how the key is labeled.
I'll try to remember this difference.
Shift-Tab works everywhere. Even Shift-Alt-Tab cycles windows in reverse order here.

ESC (wait 1 sec) and then the menu is closed for me (yast autoyast).
Ok... it does, true. Still, it is confusing.
It is how ESC works on VT100 terminals (vi changes the terminal mode, but that means that Alt-<key> cannot be replaced by Esc-<key> any more and that's important for Yast if you use it from a "broken" Terminal).
