??? Safe? I'd expect it to be listed in 'long_tmp_dirs_to_clear', consistent with standards going back 20+ years. To move it into 'tmp_dirs_to_clear' is making it the same as "/tmp". If that was desired, they system would never have been designed with two separate tmp dirs. They are supposed to be treated differently. One is short-term tmp storage, the other is longer term tmp storage. I wouldn't expect anything there to be safe forever. But I would expect something in /var/tmp to be there for at least a month on my system. Moving it into the group "tmp_dirs", vs. "long_tmp_dirs", is a DESIGN FLAW.
