Yes. I looked up a more than two year old backup of /etc/sysconfig/cron, and apart from a minor, unrelated change it's exactly the same. I must have added /var/tmp/ myself, then, or it was set in those days. So, openSUSE just does now do what it has been told ages ago. Apparently it hasn't been doing that for a few years, or I would have noticed far earlier. Can't blame openSUSE for fixing bugs.
