This is not always true. There are extremely offensive texts, including (but not limited to) Christian tradition, so that they would be probably quickly banned as extremist if someone wrote anything similar today.
Could you please provide a transcription of one? I've only read one of the several versions of the Bible (the one edited by the Vatican, as I was raised as a Roman Catholic) and all I can say is that I've seen far more offensive comments in pieces of software like Star Office than I've seen on the bible. It's just plain curiosity... You can answer in private, this is just something not worth for the list.
