Does systemd-boot support booting from a read-only snapshot like grub does ?
Yes.
Thanks Andrei.
Does it lump everything into 1 big menu or have they added support for submenu's like grub ?
Still one big menu
Does it automatically update for new kernels installed and new snapshots created like grub does ?
grub does not automatically update the menu for new kernels or new snapshots, these are scripts called by the update stack. Same for systemd-boot.
Can zypper create automatic pre/post snapshots which are automatically added to the boot menu ?
zypper creates automatic pre/post snapshots, what does this have to do with systemd-boot? About the boot menu: see above.
Thanks, last time I looked at it all those features were not there yet but it has been a while
These "features" are no features of the bootloader, neither of grub2 nor systemd-boot, but of our update scripts. Somebody just needed to implement BLS support there, and that's already done a long time agol Just install Tumbleweed or MicroOS with systemd-boot as bootloader. Thorsten
