You have orphaned packages on a fresh installation?
Excuse me stupid, but what exactly constitutes an "orphaned" package? A package that is not from any configured repository or something?
Mostly correct. Include the version and repo status and you have it. Full sentence: zypper marks a package as "orphaned" when it (based on name and version string) is not found in any "active" repositories.
