After last update I notice an extremely delayed XFCE desktop starting.
I input my login at lightdm-greeter as usual with XFCE selected then it last almost 2 minutes before XFCE desktop becomes ready to be used.
Would like to know what could have caused this issue, since so far the XFCE starting was extremely fast!
Not sure if this is the same issue. I'm using openbox and ligthtdm, and since this update, the window manager does not finish it's startup after entering the password. Logging in on tty1, I can see that the X startup is hanging in '/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.common' because `xrdb -nocpp -load -retain $XETCDIR/Xresources` never returns.
Have a nice day, Berny
Thanks for this confirmation Berny! Could you be so kind to explain me how you get the log above from tty1? What is the sequence you do to monitor the X startup? (send me through a personal email to avoid further load on the ML) I verified that by executing the login in XFCE by a different user, the starting of the desktop is pretty much quicker, then it could be there are some definitions into the custom configs for default user which are slowing down the process. BTW in my case I get a running XFCE with all the expected settings as it was before the latest TW update, the only weird aspect is that the starting time is noticeable bigger.
