Which packages exactly are on your system that you want to get rid of?
The debacle started with gnomekeyring, which could not be upgraded, nor uninstalled. looping all the time, lot of pkgs, are involved.
This way i am forced to 'check' gnome also, which i do not want.
You should not need to check the GNOME pattern at all
I remember for checking apango bug to have to install gedit. It installed about a 100MB's extra, just for an editor? I could not get rid of them afterwards.., just looping pkgsmngrs.. This i hate.
It is silly, that it is not possible to update a system, due to an invalid DE, one not wants to use, don't you agree?
There are packages like flashplayer, acrobat reader and gimp that use the gtk libraries - are you speaking about these? Or what is your problem? A lot of libraries are kind of system libraries, you cannot get rid of them,
indeed, flashplayer, gimp and acrobat reader, i use. I am not bothered by the system libraries at all, but by apps, that get pulled in, that i do not ask for , nor need.
