Never before that I can remember have I needed to select an entire pattern following selection of minimal X window. Always any added pattern has had more in it than I wanted, so I would spend quite some time picking from the details listings.
Previously, selecting "Minimal X Window" on the "Desktop Selection" screen, then proceeding to detailed package selection, the starting configuration included the base cmdline tools, yast2 & zypper, none of which apparently are now preselected by selecting "Custom" on the replacing "Computer Role" screen.
When you previously selected Minimal X Window you were installing the X Window System Pattern and all the other patterns that it recommends.
Whether this amounts to bad I'm not judging, but it's certainly a shocking difference to expectations based upon previous experience.
