I'll probably do that at some point. I do have an odroid u3 that I love, and plan to upgrade and make my default server again at some point. Boring, nerdy reason why I'm not using it currently :: Using an SD card for storage of our personal stuff ended up being a bit unreliable, so I got an SSD in an external enclosure with a separate power supply. For some reason, the U3 couldn't successfully power the SSD over its USB ports, it'd draw the voltage down too much and reboot. So I mounted it in a wall-mounted industrial enclosure that I got for free, and ran them both with an external 7 amp power supply, which worked fine, but it's not very portable. So right now I'm using the old zotero box until I can find a new enclosure that works and is portable. Plus, the version of Debian that I was running the U3 on is nearing its EOL, so I needed to upgrade it to the latest version anyhow. I love the CloudShell, but can't afford to pick up an XU4 to go with it 😝 From: Freek de Kruijf <freek@opensuse.org> Sent: Saturday, June 3, 2017 5:32 AM To: opensuse-factory@opensuse.org Subject: Re: [opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed 32-bit support lifetime Op vrijdag 2 juni 2017 22:11:55 CEST schreef Christopher Myers:
Ok cool, thanks much :)
I've got some old hardware that I'm trying to keep alive because it works perfectly well as my server at home (it's old, but quite energy efficient,) so I'm just seeing how much longer I can keep it going :)
I would recommend a Raspberry Pi type of system, which takes only a few Watts to operate. I have a RP12, with Tumbleweed, as my server, and a spare RPi3, with 42.2, standing by. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
