I just ftp installed factory with KDE. /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm does not exist. Searching the /etc tree came up empty. Where is kdmrc hiding out?
AFAIK coolo patched kdm so that /etc/..kdmrc is obsolete now. Only the kdmrc in /opt/kde3/.. is used from now on.
Why? :-( Isn't /etc designed/intended for systemwide config files?
Yes, the config to change is in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager though
Unlike the initial kdmrc file, it doesn't include commenting that tells me how and whether I can change what I want to change. See list below for what I changed manually.
I had two questions though: a) why did you look for kdmrc to begin with
1-Before I ever reach runlevel 5 the first time I fix all the broken defaults, after backing them up, which there is no provision to do with kcontrol.
Changing what?
