Recently I have been doing a fresh install of my tumbleweed (change of hdd) and I was surprised by the fact the installer does not support 4k screens, the fonts are ridiculously small.
It does, but IIRC, not automatically.

https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Linuxrc
XVideo Set the screen resolution and logical pixel density used during installation for the graphical installer. Its applicability is limited to the first screen when multiple screens are employed. The option accepts a screen resolution optionally followed by a screen density in dpi. Note this does neither influence the text mode (console) resolution nor set the screen size for the installed system. Examples: # set screen size to 1024 x 768 XVideo=1024x768 # set screen size to 1024 x 768, and set resolution to 100 dpi XVideo=1024x768,100
If your screen is 3840x2160, I suggest any of the following options as a starting point: XVideo=3840x2160,180 or XVideo=2560x1440 or XVideo=2048x1152 or XVideo=1920x1080 -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science.
