That I do not understand. Do you mean: rug should use libzypp directly and zmd optionally? Yes, I doubt, that there is anybody on this list using the benefits from ZMD. So it should not be the default.
I also like the new user management, so you do not need the root password for package installation.
I share the concerns of Marcus. Especially I see a distinction between: - allowing security updates / software installs (removal?) from the current repositories (with gpg check) and - allowing adding repositories, installing RPM files.
That's true. Maybe sudo is a solution, so installing packages can be done with the user password?
