Mmm... in those countries, people use very old cars, that drink gas as fast as a storm drain. A new car would use much less, but you have to buy it first.
A car is a lot more expensive than a new PC, but total cost of ownership is an important consideration. Even when I had very little money available, I bought the best system I could afford, with the intention of using it for several years.
