Are there still YST text interface users out there?
Is minimal server (Xorg-free) installation no longer an option? It still was 3 days ago.
There are still situations when X can't be used. For example, I manage a dedicated host that's physically about 1,500 miles away. I can log into the box with ssh and forward the X11 ports, but the round-trip packet times of about 65-msec make X painfully slow. X11is a rather chatty protocol and requires lots of packets flying thither and yon. The curses version of yast works just fine. There are other cases where I have to leapfrog through a single ssh server. Policy requires that ports can not be forwarded in this case, thus X11 won't work. Yast, in either form, is one of openSuSE's big selling points!
