Apparently, 12.1 has added /var/tmp/ to TMP_DIRS_TO_CLEAR in /etc/sysconfig/cron. I was quite surprised when I found out today that I've lost a few GB of data, which used to be safe there.
Needless to say that I'm not pleased. No backups, because it wasn't *that* important, but I find such changes without warning suboptimal, to put it politely.

The unrequested unpleasant surprise is never excusable, but really, even I have to say you should have known better than to store anything in any place named */tmp/* just because of exactly this day. It's really not an unexpected event. You do know that tmp stands for "temporary" right? That's pretty much the end of the conversation right there, regardless if that dir ever used to be cleaned automatically or not. -- bkw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
