I confess I am surprised at people considering a circa 2013 computer old or aged. I just bought myself another Thinkpad last week: a Thinkpad X220 with a Core i7. (I already have an X220, but mine is a Core i5 one and it's very battered with cracks in the case that I superglued together. The newer one is in excellent condition, with USB3 and a fingerprint reader.) This is a 2011 machine, and it's more than fast enough for my purposes. I have now got 2 × X220, 2 × T420 (in both instances, Core i5 plus Core i7 models), and W520 machines. All are in regular use, and all date back to 2011 or thereabouts. To me, they are fast modern multicore hyperthreaded 64-bit machines, with 8-16GB of RAM. I dislike newer Thinkpads, because they have much inferior keyboards. I really hate flat chiclet keyboards. Surely it is not just me?
